Sailing trips on a sailing ship with 34 (53) people from Harlingen
Traditional sailing ship lugger MARS under full sail on the IJsselmeer
Lugger MARS :
The Mars was built in 1924 as a sailing coaster. After many voyages on the Baltic Sea and along the English coast, this sturdy Groninger sailing lugger was completely renovated and rebuilt in 1996. This was necessary to turn it into a passenger ship that met all requirements for safety and comfort. The Mars has been sailing on the Wadden Sea and the IJsselmeer for quite some time now.
The Mars lets you enjoy the charm and cosiness on board a historic sailing ship. The spacious deck layout and the classic deckhouse create an atmospheric ambiance and a pleasant stay. Cook the most appetizing meals in the galley and take a seat at the bar with beer tap or sit down at one of the tables in the bright saloon and admire the wide view through the large windows.
Below deck are the thirteen spacious cabins and lots of extra storage space. There are nine double and four quadruple cabins, each with running water and electricity (220V). The sanitary facilities consist of three toilets and three showers. With this, the Mars offers a comfortable stay for up to 34 people for multi-day trips and for day trips up to 53 people. Because the ship is fully centrally heated, it is always pleasant to stay.
